Look and Feel
I really like the design of this mod. It looks sleek and futuristic, yet rugged and durable. The slick design gives it a futuristic look. It almost looks like some kind of fancy hard drive that traveled back in time. The chiseled edges give it a tough and rugged look. Although I don't recommend it, I feel like I could drop this mod and it would be just fine. It feels great in hand because of its smooth design. I'm not a big fan of the cheap plastic feel, so I like how the Tarot Pro 160w feels. It must have taken a lot of time to design this bad boy.
You get to choose from three different colors:
- Black and Earth Marbling
- Black and Yellow Fractal
- Silver and Carbon Fiber
Biggest Advantages
The best thing about the Tarot Pro 160w is the upgraded chipset. It utilizes the new OMNI Board, which is a smart chip that has several cool features. Let's explore what these features are all about.
Smart VW
When you screw your atty on, the mod will be able to tell if it has a new build or not. If it's a fresh coil build, the Tarot will set the wattage to a level that's recommended for your specific build. This is a pretty cool feature, but you will probably set your wattage manually. It's a great feature for the lesser experienced vaper, as this will give you a great starting point.
Too many times people ask me about what wattage they should vape at. I usually tell them whatever feels best for you build and I explain to them about how certain mods and coils have certain ranges. Well with this mod, I can just say ask the Tarot. If you already know which wattages you like to vape at, you probably won't be head over hills for the Smart VW feature.
CCW and CCT Modes
Here's a feature for the advanced vaper. The CC in both of these acronyms stands for customized curve. The W and T stand for wattage and temperature. So what this feature does is let you set a specific wattage or temperature you want your mod to fire at in 0.5 second intervals. It may sound like a novelty feature, but I assure you it's not. It's pretty awesome.
At different wattages and temperatures, you taste different flavors. This is not just for different juices, but with the same juice. Yes, vape juice A may be better at 120w while vape juice B is awesome at 60w. But vape juice A may be a different kind of great at 80w than it is at 120w. That's why this is more for advanced vapers or flavor chasers. With a cheap tank, you probably couldn't tell the difference anyway. But with an RDA, you'll be able to tell.
So with this feature, you'll be able to make the wattage or temperature curve at your will. You can have it fluctuate around so you can hit all the notes that your vape juice has. You'll be able to get the full flavor of your juice, and that's my favorite feature of this mod.
One thing to note here, you can use them both at the same time. For instance, you can't set it to start at 120w and end at 450°F. You can either set the temperature or the wattage.
Biggest Disadvantages
One of the things that can be annoying with this mod is the slimness. It only fits nicely with 23mm or smaller RDAs. If you like to use bigger RDAs, it'll hang off the edge which can be annoying. It's not the worst thing in the world, but if your favorite RDA sits at 25mm that's a bummer. You probably won't like how it looks or feels on this mod but you'll like how it vapes.
Another thing that can be kind of annoying is when you set your wattage and then decide to switch to a different mode, it resets it. It does have memory features, to combat this, but it's annoying that it doesn't just remember the last wattage you were at automatically. It will remember it if you stay in wattage mode, turn the device off and then turn it back on.
Other than those two annoyances, this is a stellar mod.
Verdict
The Vaporesso Tarot Pro 160w mod is a very nice mod. Its build quality is great and it produces smooth and consistent vapor when paired with a decent atty. I love the CCW and CCT modes. They allow you to get a premium vaping experience like never before. The best part is this mod isn't expensive at all. It's only $59.99. For that price, I can deal with the annoyances. The features far outweigh the negative aspects. If you would like to have a sleek mod and a customized vaping experience, this is the best mod to buy. You can order it for the low price of $59.99 here.
